Through Firebird Homes, Manningham HA is endeavoring to achieve its mission of ‘providing homes for the community’ which is in tune with the housing needs identified by the local authorities and the regional agencies that have recently set a target that requires the full capacity of each developing Housing Associations, Developers and stakeholders to prepare and commit appropriate resources in meeting the housing needs for the region.
For example Bradford Metropolitan District Council have a target of providing 48,600 new homes by 2026 of which around 30% minimum (15,000) is to be affordable housing. This amounts to approximately 830 affordable units a year over the next 18 years. If this regional target is to be achieved it would heavily depend on an adequate supply of land, the viability of suitable finance , the commitment from Local Authorities , Services infrastructure works being put in place and the confidence within the construction industry and Investment from the Homes and Communities Agency.
Firebird Homes’ mission is held in its statement of - ‘Making Homes Affordable’. This task is not as straight forward as one would hope for, as there are many pitfalls and risks that will need to be identified and or eliminated from the process with some risks being controlled to enable a successful delivery of homes. Furthermore this has to be balanced with the continued confidence given by our various partners & stakeholders such as the Homes and Communities Agency, the Tenant Services Authority, Bradford Metropolitan District Council, Craven District Council and other Local Authorities in the Yorkshire region to support Firebird Homes’ ability to be a delivery partner for Manningham HA providing homes for the community.
